Bess J. Pierce

Dr. Pierce earned a BSc in biology from Tulane University, an MS in wildlife biology and a DVM from Auburn University and is currently an Associate Professor at Lincoln Memorial University, where she teaches small animal internal medicine and canine sports medicine. She is also an Adjunct Associate Professor in Canine Performance Sciences and Rehabilitation at the University of Pennsylvania’s Penn Vet Working Dog Center and has served nearly 28 years in the US Army Veterinary Corps (where she currently holds the rank of colonel) with a focus on military working dog health and fitness. Board-certified in canine and feline practice, small animal internal medicine and canine sports medicine, Dr. Pierce’s primary interests are canine sports medicine and rehabilitation, conditioning and injury prevention, and veterinary education.
