After graduating from Bristol Veterinary School, Séverine Tasker worked in a charity veterinary practice before moving to Edinburgh to complete an FAB (now ICatCare) Residency in Feline Medicine. She then returned to the University of Bristol and completed a PhD in feline hemoplasmosis in 2002. She remained at Bristol, becoming a Professor in Feline Medicine in 2016, where she worked for Langford Vets in the Feline Center and Molecular Diagnostics Unit, and was involved in teaching and research. Séverine Tasker now holds an honorary chair in Feline Medicine at the University of Bristol and, since 2018, has been Chief Medical Officer for Linnaeus. At Linnaeus, she is responsible for quality improvement, education, clinical research, and veterinary affairs, and works with all Associates to achieve Mars PetCare's goal of A Better World for Pets. She is interested in all aspects of feline medicine, particularly infectious diseases and hematological disorders, and has edited the BSAVA Manual of Feline Practice; A Foundation Manual, which focuses on taking a holistic approach to feline practice, optimizing care that is tailored to cats and their owners.
