Isabelle Ruhnke

Dr. Ruhnke received her veterinary degree from Freie University Berlin, Germany, and then her doctorate degree from the Gastrointestinal Laboratory at Texas A&M, where she studied the function of gastrointestinal transporters in healthy and diseased dogs and cats. She completed an internship at the University Clinic in Berlin before specializing in Small Animal Medicine (MSc) and the impact of food technology on intestinal health (PhD). In 2021, Dr. Ruhnke became a Diplomate of the European College of Veterinary and Comparative Nutrition, with a chosen subspecialty in companion animals. After many years of teaching and researching the impact of nutrition in animals at various universities, she joined Royal Canin as a Gastrointestinal Discovery Manager and part of the global innovation team, discovering the brand’s gastrointestinal innovations in this area.
