Dr. Nectoux graduated from the Veterinary School of Lyon, France in 2015 and worked in general practice and also studied for a Masters in Integrated Physiology in Extreme Conditions, and Diplomas in mechanical ventilation and renal replacement therapies. She obtained her ECVECC diploma in 2021 and is now a faculty member at SIAMU (the intensive care unit of VetAgro Sup) at VetAgro, an institute of higher education and research under the aegis of the French Ministry of Agriculture and Food. She is particularly interested in feline blood transfusion, renal replacement therapies and ultrasonographic assessment of the digestive tract.

Using a nasogastric tube to help enteral feeding in critically ill patients is known to have beneficial results, but correct positioning of the tube is essential; ultrasound is now beginning to show promise in aiding correct placement of the tube.
