Dr. Gambino is a 2008 Cornell Veterinary School graduate whose interest in emergency and critical care medicine started with a volunteer position in the UPenn Veterinary School Emergency Department during college. This interest developed throughout her training, and after graduation she completed a rotating internship in small animal medicine and surgery at Angell Animal Medical Center, and then stayed for another three years as an Emergency and Critical Care Resident. Following board certification in 2012 she moved to Seattle, where she works at a multi-specialty hospital, serving as intern program co-director from 2014-2017. Her areas of interest include ischemia-reperfusion and oxidant injury, sepsis, and the intersection of inflammation and coagulation.
