Gerdinique Maessen enrolled in the medical faculty in 2016 to study for her initial BSc, and subsequently joined the Honors program, completing both in 2019. She then served on the board of MSFU, the national medical student association in The Netherlands between 2019-2020, before starting her Masters degree in medicine. She was a member of the Utrecht Medical Student Council in 2020-2021 (heading up the Strategy & Finance committee) and has published three clinical articles to date, with another in submission.

A survey on workload and wellbeing

Burnout and poor mental health may be key factors linked to the current shortage of veterinarians; this paper presents the results of a recent survey that attempts to gauge the scale of the problems.
